Nef de Notre Dame de Paris.
A view down the nave from the crossing of this famous and beautiful cathedral, which will celebrate its 850th birthday in 2013. You can see the cathedral organ at the top, which will receive a full restoration as a birthday present next year.

That’s crazy! Is that the pipes from the organ up in the window??
Great question! Just did a little further research, and found that although the cathedral has always had an organ, the grand organ was not installed until the 13th century (the cathedral having been built in the 12th). Over the years the organ has been restored, and additions have been made to it to make it the largest and most famous organ in the world. There are currently three organs in the cathedral, and you can read all about the history (in English) by going to this link: http://www.notredamedeparis.fr/-The-Organs-
Great! Thanks a lot Christopher!
Gorgeous!
